Welcome to the “Man Beast Within” Blog

It’s been 10 years since I wrote my first book “The Gay Guy’s Guide to Werewolves and Other Man Beasts” in 2016.  Over the years, I’ve had plans to write two additional books, turning this into a werewolf book trilogy.  One of those books is planned as a Pagan spell and ritual book for Queer werewolves and shapeshifters, and the other is meant t highlight Queer werewolves and shapeshifters in popular culture (books, movies, television, music, and so on). I’ve written a great deal of material for both books, but due to various things happening in my life (work, roommates, various responsibilities, and general life stuff and life challenges) and the world at large (Covid, fascism, etc.) I’ve not been able to manage the same amount of research, writing, and focus on the books as I was able when I wrote the first book.

Over the years, many folks have contacted me to ask when the next book will be published.  I still want to complete them, but I still don’t have an answer as to when.  It occurred to me recently that while it may be a while before I publish the next book, there’s no reason why I can’t start sharing some of the material I’ve already written.  So, in the interest of putting my ideas and research out into the world, I decided to create this werewolf blog.

Much of the material presented will be new material that I’ve already written for the upcoming books, but I might also call back to chapters from the first book.  Interspersed with materials from my books, I might also provide commentary on other things related to werewolves and shapeshifting and I might write some book reviews for other books too.

As for a posting schedule, the most honest answer is “when I have time.”  After this first post, I’ll probably make some extra posts over the coming weeks to get things started.   After I’ve got some initial posts under my pelt, I’ll likely try to post at least something each month – possibly even on or near the full moon.

I hope you’ll check back often for new blog posts.
